City Closes Part of Downtown Park

The move will make room for construction of an apartment complex.

The City of Clearwater announced Monday that the north and northeast sides of Prospect Lake Park in downtown Clearwater will be closed to pedestrians in the interest of safety.

The closure may last for several months, the city said in a post on its Facebook page. The move is necessary because of the construction of The Nolan apartments and the installation of a drainage pipe.

Part of a walking path around the lake will be closed, according to the city.
