What's Open, What's Closed In Clearwater On Thanksgiving

CLEARWATER, FL — City of Clearwater offices, recreation centers and libraries will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27.

The Solid Waste & Recycling Department will close Thanksgiving Day. Thursday residential black barrel, blue barrel and yard waste collections will be made on Wednesday, Nov. 25, for both residential service and commercial garbage service. Thursday’s commercial cardboard collection will be picked up on Friday, Nov. 27.

All branches of the Clearwater Public Library System will close at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25.

The Henry L. McMullen Tennis Complex will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26 and 27. On Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 28 and 29, Clearwater libraries and recreation centers will be open as normally scheduled.

The Clearwater Beach Marina Fuel Dock will be closed on Thursday but open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Clearwater Harbor Marina and Seminole Launch Ramp will be open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

For gas leaks, water line breaks, or other non-police and fire emergencies, call the city's 24-hour emergency dispatch line at 727-462-6633.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Tampa Bay Times Turkey Trot, a holiday tradition in Clearwater, has officially been canceled. The city encourages families to continue the tradition by walking or running on Thanksgiving in their neighborhoods or along Clearwater's trails.
