Clearwater Coast Guard Crews Evacuate 19 People In Bahamas
Members of the Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater evacuated 19 people from the Marsh Harbour Clinic in the Abaco Islands to Nassau.
CLEARWATER, FL — As Hurricane Dorian continues pummeling the Bahamas with hurricane-force winds and deadly storm surge, killing at least five people, members of the Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater successfully rescued 19 people from the Marsh Harbour Clinic in the Abaco Islands to Nassau International Airport.
Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopters and crews along with health service technicians are staging a rescue operation on Andros Island in the Bahamas.
So far, four Jayhawk aircrews have made five medical rescues of residents ranging from children to the elderly. Seven of those patients were in critical condition, according to U.S. Coast Guard.

At least five people have died as a result of the storm, according to Bahamas Prime Minister Hubert Minnis.
