Clearwater Employees To Be Honored Friday At Art Reception

CLEARWATER, FL -- Second Century Studios invites the public to the closing reception of the Employee Art 2.0 art exhibit, featuring the artwork of city of Clearwater employees.

The closing reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at Second Century Studios, 331 Cleveland St.

The exhibit features the artwork of nine city employees presenting a variety of styles, themes and techniques. The art exhibit includes metal sculptures, oil and acrylic paintings, photography, digital art and quilling designs.

Two artists will receive awards at the closing reception. Visitors to Second Century Studios voted for the People's Choice Award, which recognizes the public's favorite artist at Employee Art 2.0. The city's Achievement Awards Committee selected a Choice Award from the exhibit.

The artists are:

* Cpl. Gary Bonzo, Clearwater Police Department

* Emily Johnson, Public Communications Department

* Lance Kielich, General Services Department

* Anelise Wilhelm, Information Technology Department

* Mark Plyler, Clearwater Gas System

* Carlos Cardenas, Building and Maintenance Department

* Robert Main, Clearwater Police Department

* Kalyani Bhutada, Planning and Development Department

Second Century Studios is an art space located at the corner of Cleveland Street and Osceola Avenue in downtown Clearwater that has been supported by the city's Community Redevelopment Agency.
