CLEARWATER, FL -- Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department crews evacuated 18 residents from 17 units at the Imperial Cove Condominiums just before 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, when a fire broke out in the attic area of one of the buildings.
Four firefighters received minor injuries fighting the three-alarm fire at the four-story condo located at 19029 U.S. 19 N. They were all treated at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Red Cross was called to assist the residents of the 55 years-plus condominium complex. However, the fire was confined to the attic so the damage was limited to smoke.
