CLEARWATER, FL — Members of the Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department are helping Clearwater students get ready to hit the books by collecting school supplies.

Friday was the first day of the school supply and cash donation drive at the Walmart at U.S. 19 and State Road 590. Firefighters will be back at the Walmart Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Parents are encouraged to pick up some extra school supplies to donate as they shop for their own children. Or they can help fill a fire boot with cash that fire personnel will use to purchase supplies.
