CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Florida Municipal Natural Gas Association (FMNGA) released its 2019 municipal gas system activity report and ranked Clearwater Gas System as the fastest-growing gas utility within the state of Florida, among 31 public gas systems. Clearwater Gas System’s robust marketing efforts resulted in an addition of 1,879 new gas customers, an impressive growth rate of 7.5 percent.

“We are extremely proud of all of the sections of Clearwater Gas System,” said Chuck Warrington, executive director of Clearwater Gas System. “Our combined efforts added several new gas customers to our 27,500 customer base in 2019. We are equally appreciative of the support of our customers, residents and community partners.”

Clearwater Gas System is the fourth largest municipal gas system in Florida and ranks 34th out of nearly 1,000 public gas systems in the United States. Clearwater Gas System’s service territory includes 20 municipalities and unincorporated areas within northern and central Pinellas County, western and central Pasco County, and northwestern Hillsborough County.
