Clearwater Government Offices To Close For MLK Day

Residents are urged to celebrate King's legacy with a breakfast followed by a march to Coachman Park.

CLEARWATER, FL -- City of Clearwater offices, libraries and recreation facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 15, in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

The city's Solid Waste/Recycling Department will be working, and there will be no changes to the once-a-week garbage collection schedule.

For police or fire emergencies, dial 9-1-1 as usual.

Residents are urged to celebrate King’s legacy with a breakfast at the North Greenwood Recreation Center, 900 N. MLK Jr. Ave., followed by a 10 a.m. march from the recreation center to Coachman Park. Cost of the breakfast is $5/adults, $3/children 10 and younger. Reservations for tables that seat eight people are available for a $40 donation.
