Clearwater Kids Will Get Police Escort to School Wednesday
Four local elementary schools are participating in International Walk to School Day.

Clearwater Police Officers are reporting to class Wednesday and they’re planning to walk.
The department is observing International Walk to School Day by providing escorts for kids walking to four local elementary schools. Community liaison officers, members of the traffic enforcement team, the bike team and AmeriCorps all plan to join in the walk, an email from the police department said.

Belleair Elementary – Walkers and bike riders will meet up at Publix, 1295 S. Missouri Ave., between 7 and 7:30 a.m. for a departure time of 7:30 to 7:45.
Eisenhower Elementary – Participants plan to meet in the parking lot of Emeritus of Clearwater, 2750 Drew St., between 7 and 7:30 a.m. for a departure time of 7:30 to 7:40.
Plumb Elementary – The meeting place for this school is the parking area for Central Christian Church, 1200 S. Keene Road. Walkers should meet about 7:15 a.m. for a departure time of 7:45.
Leila Davis Elementary – Participants are asked to meet in the rear parking lot of Stein Mart, 2522 N. McMullen Booth Road, at about 7:30 a.m. for a departure time of 8.
