Clearwater Library Offers Amnesty For Overdue Books
All Clearwater Public Library branches are offering an amnesty period for overdue materials in exchange for donations of food.

CLEARWATER, FL – If you have library books that are overdue, you’re in luck this month.
All Clearwater Public Library branches are offering an amnesty period for overdue materials in exchange for donations of nonperishable foods. The Food for Fines program will run through Friday, Dec. 22.
The program has netted tons of food and supplies for the Religious Community Services Food Bank since it was introduced in 2012. Anyone who has fines due may bring canned goods or nonperishable foods to any Clearwater library branch and present them at the circulation desk with the overdue materials. Staff will waive any fines due, and the donated food will go toward the holiday charity food drive. This program does not apply to fees for lost or damaged materials.
