Clearwater Man Charged in Largo Murder
Police say they've charged a man in connection with the death of McKinley Torbit Jr.
The Largo Police Department has made an arrest in the July shooting death of a 21-year-old man.
According to the agency, Charles Freeman, 23, of Clearwater was booked into the Pinellas County Jail late Tuesday evening on first-degree murder and drug possession charges.
McKinley Torbit Jr. was shot and killed July 13 after a fight broke out at his home in the Tara Garden Apartments, 1630 Jefferson St. Police say Torbit was taken to Morton Plant Hospital after the altercation, but died from his injuries.

No details on how detectives connected Freeman to the shooting have been released. The case remains under investigation.
Freeman was being held without bond in the Pinellas County Jail Wednesday.
