Clearwater Man Dies In Crash On Bayside Bridge

CLEARWATER, FL — A 45-year-old Clearwater man has died following an accident Saturday on the Bayside Bridge.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 8:20 p.m., Melissa Kim Calderon, 37, of Clearwater was driving a Lexus sedan and Joseph Ernie Poblete was driving a Toyota SUV south on the Bayside Bridge linking Clearwater with Largo when Poblete rear-ended Calderon's car.

Poblete's SUV rotated and overturned multiple times. He was transported to Northside Hospital where he died. A passenger in the SUV, Laurie Elise Poblete, 34, is being treated at Bayfront Hospital for serious injuries.
