CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater police say a man accused of killing a poodle mix by burying it alive laughed as he described the incident to detectives.

Police were called 1619 Barry Road for a disturbance at 1:15 p.m. Sunday.

They said Tyler Allen Crevasse, 33, and his father, who were both drinking, fought after Crevasse buried his father's 18-year-old dog alive.

Police said Crevasse struck his father in the nose twice during the fight that was related to Crevasse killing his father's dog two days before.

Detectives said he described wrapping the live dog in a wet towel and placing it in a hole where another dog was buried. He said he did it because the dog was old and most likely dying anyway.
