Clearwater PD Now Recruiting Volunteers

The agency is playing host to a recruitment fair Jan. 23, 2016.

CLEARWATER, FL — Anyone age 21 or older who has ever wanted to help law enforcement officers in their mission to protect and serve may want to put Jan. 23 on their calendars.

That’s the day the Clearwater Police Department is playing host to its volunteer recruitment fair at Westfield Countryside Mall, 27001 U.S. 19 N. Set to take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the lower level near Sears, the fair will give potential volunteers a chance to learn more about the post.

The Clearwater Police Department relies on volunteers to assist in a number of different tasks. Volunteers help by directing traffic at accident scenes, writing parking tickets and by patrolling parks and the beach, among other duties. Some volunteer opportunities are also available at police headquarters. Inside volunteers perform clerical duties.
