Clearwater Police Arrest Burglary Suspect After Mom Sees Video

A Riverview teen is facing burglary charges after his mother saw his image on a social media post and turned him in.

CLEARWATER, FL -- When the Clearwater Police Department posted a video of a burglar on social media captured on a Ring Video Doorbell, officers hoped someone would call in a tip to his identity.

They never expected the person who recognized the accused burglar and called in would be his mother.

On April 25, a man rang the doorbell of a home in the 3200 block of San Mateo Street. When no one answered, the man and two accomplices went to the back of the house, entered through the sliding-glass door and stole three items worth $5,000.
