Clearwater Police Arrest Woman In Attempted Walgreens Robbery

CLEARWATER, FL -- Clearwater Police detectives have arrested a woman who reportedly tried to rob a Walgreens last month.

The crime occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on May 15 at the store located at 703 Court St.

The attempted robber entered the store and demanded money, saying she had a gun.

Clearwater Police Seek Help To Identify Attempted Robber

When the employee said there was no cash in the cash register, she left the store. No weapon was ever seen.

Detectives were able to identify Oprielle Smith, 34, of Clearwater as the woman seen in a surveillance video. She is being held in the Pinellas County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
