Clearwater Police Detectives Investigate 2nd Shooting In 4 days

In all, seven people have been shot in Clearwater in the past week.

CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater police detectives are continuing their investigation into a second shooting in Clearwater this week.

Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a shooting at 7:58 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. A man and woman were found shot and taken to Bayfront Health in St. Petersburg as trauma alerts.

Both remain in serious condition.

A third person showed up at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater with a minor gunshot wound.

On Monday around 9:30 p.m., four people were shot in a drive-by-shooting on U.S. 19 just north of Drew Street.

Ivon Cobbs, 18, was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa where he died.

Another occupant in the car that was targeted is in critical condition at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. A third person is in serious condition and the fourth was treated for minor injuries.

Detectives haven't said if the two shooting are related.

In the first shooting, the shooter was driving a black Nissan Altima with faded paint on the hood, silver rims, dark tint and dual exhaust pipes.
