CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater police have arrested three teens they say are responsible for smashing at least 40 mailboxes in the Countryside area late Dec. 27 and early Dec. 28.

Police said the teens, ages 14, 16 and 17, have been charged and referred to the Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney’s Office for prosecution. One attends Clearwater High School, another Countryside High and the third East Lake High.

Home surveillance videos showed two of the teens getting out of a car and running up to two mailboxes. One teen was caught on camera kicking a mailbox and the other was seen trying to push over a mailbox. Most of the vandalism took place in the Northwood and Winding Wood subdivisions.
