CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater Police Department begins monitoring the parking lot at Seminole Street Boat Ramp this weekend, May 9 through 10 because of overcrowding issues caused from the temporary closure of Dunedin Boat Ramp, confirmed a city news release. When the parking lot reaches capacity along with illegal parking of vehicles and trailers, it creates launching and docking problems.

Police will temporarily close the parking lot when trailer parking is full, and no launching will be allowed. Vehicles are prohibited from lining up along Seminole Street to wait for a space to open up. To give boaters an idea of parking space availability, a new online tool from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office gives real-time updates on boat ramp parking along with Clearwater Beach parking and Clearwater Beach capacity.
