Clearwater Public Library To Host Black History Month Programs

CLEARWATER, FL — Black History Month honors and celebrates the achievements of African American men and women throughout history. It is observed from Feb. 1 through Feb. 29 annually. The Clearwater Public Library System has planned several programs to celebrate this important month.

True African American Experience: Black Studies Class
North Greenwood Library, 905 N. Martin Luther King Jr., Ave.
The four-week course will examine the African American experience starting from the rise of the Western Sudanic Civilization to the present experiences of black life in America.

Mamma and Me, Our Poetry, Our Lives

Hear the lives of two phenomenal women through their musical and revealing writings that span more than a century of history.

Tampa Bay’s African American History

Join us on a journey that traces the history of Tampa’s black community. Bear witness to the resilience and entrepreneurship of the city’s dynamic black community and the significant Central Avenue business district that they established.
