Clearwater Residents To Brainstorm Ways To Reduce Waste

CLEARWATER, FL -- Pinellas County's University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences extension office is partnering with the city of Clearwater to host a community discussion on waste reduction.

Members of the public are invited to this public forum, which will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, 1201 Douglas Ave. in Clearwater.

The forum will feature a discussion about waste reduction strategies and how it relates to recycling and conservation behaviors. The city and its partners want to receive the community's thoughts and ideas about local waste reduction issues, potential solutions, and trade-offs to share with other municipalities.

This forum and others like it are part of UF/IFAS Extension's new Community Voices, Informed Choices program that aims to promote informed community decision-making. A minimum of 10 participants is needed to host the forum.Refreshments will be provided.
