Clearwater Residents Invited to ‘Imagine’ Downtown Waterfront’s Future
A series of three community meetings is planned to get resident input on Clearwater's downtown waterfront.

CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater residents with big ideas for the downtown waterfront area's future are invited to share them at a series of upcoming community meetings. The Imagine Clearwater meeting series kicks off early next month.
During the meetings, residents will be asked to participate in small group sessions to talk about goals for the Imagine Clearwater project and to help develop an overall vision for the downtown area.
“Clearwater’s downtown waterfront is a beloved civic asset,” the city explained on its website. “The bluff’s elevation is unique on Florida’s coastline, providing unparalleled views of the Intracoastal Waterway and Clearwater Beach. Home to Coachman Park, the waterfront is an important community gathering place, hosting cultural events that attract visitors from across the region.”

The idea is to build on the area’s current strengths to “encourage greater use of the waterfront,” the city said. In addition, there is a desire to improve the connection to downtown to create “vibrant destination for all.”
The Imagine Clearwater Project focuses on the 50-acre area was of Osceola Avenue. It is bordered by Drew Street to the north and Court Street to the south.

The meeting schedule is as follows:
- Aug. 1 – 6:30 to 8 p.m., Holiday Inn Express, 2580 Gulf to Bay Blvd.
- Aug. 2 – 6:30 to 8 p.m., Countryside Library, 2642 Sabal Springs Drive
- Aug. 3 – 6 to 7:30 p.m., Downtown Clearwater Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave.
