Clearwater residents win national title at the Spring North American Bridge Championships

Jeff Meckstroth and Eric Rodwell, both of Clearwater, Fla., claimed victory in the Vanderbilt Knockout Teams event at the Spring North American Bridge Championships (NABC), one of the 15 championship-level events held in Kansas City, Mo., March 9 to 19.

This is Meckstroth’s 89th NABC title and Rodwell’s 88th NABC title. 2017 ACBL President Bob Heller (center) presented the trophy to members of the team, pictured left to right, which include Meckstroth, Steve Weinstein of Andes, N.Y., Captain Frank Nickell of New York, N.Y., Coach Eric Kokish of Montreal, Canada, Ralph Katz of Burr Ridge, Ill., Robert Levin of Henderson, Nev., and Rodwell.

The NABCs are held three times a year across the U.S. and Canada to bring together players of all skill levels, from beginner to expert, with opportunities for everyone to play daily from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The 2017 Summer NABC will be held in Toronto, Ontario, from July 20 to 30.
