Clearwater Says Goodbye To Assistant Fire Chief
Clearwater Assistant Fire Chief Danny Jones' last day on the job was Tuesday.
CLEARWATER, FL — After nearly 30 years’ service to the city, Clearwater Fire & Rescue’s Assistant Chief Danny Jones officially hung up his hat Tuesday.
To mark the milestone and say farewells, the city hosted a luncheon in Jones’ honor. City council members, firefighters, police officers and civilian personnel all joined forces to thank Jones for his years of service.
“It’s been a good ride,” Jones was quoted on the department’s Facebook page as saying.

Exactly how Jones intends to spend his time without pressing fire department issues to attend to is unclear. It appears, however, more time with family might be on his agenda.
“And, he now has plenty of time to take his adorable grandson fishing,” the agency’s Facebook post said.

Whether that adorable grandson will follow in Jones’ footsteps remains to be seen. He does, however, look especially cute in a kid-sized firefighter’s helmet.
It is unclear if a replacement for Jones has been named.
