Clearwater Seeking 400 'Sand Ambassadors'
The volunteers will work during the annual Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival on Clearwater Beach.

CLEARWATER, FL — Do you have what it takes to be a Sand Ambassador? If so, the organizers of the upcoming Bright House Networks Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival would like to hear from you.
Set to take place on Clearwater Beach April 15-24, the annual event will feature 10 “world-class artists sculpting elaborate sand sculptures,” the city said in a call out for extra hands to help.

It takes about 400 pairs, as it turns out, to provide all the necessary support for the lengthy event. Volunteers can help out by taking on such roles as cashier, server, ID checker, greeter, floater and more. In return for the assistance, each volunteer gets a free T-shirt, a complimentary meal voucher, free downtown parking and a ferry ride. Free admission to the Sugar Sand Festival also goes along with the gig.
In addition to the sculptures, the festival features concerts, movies, fireworks and more. There’s even a “giant sandbox” for the kids to play in.
