Clearwater Summer Campers At Countryside Recreation Center Get Their "Read On"
The Countryside Recreation Center worked hand in hand with the Countryside Library to provide the Inaugural Summer Camp Book Club.

CLEARWATER, FL — The Countryside Recreation Center worked hand in hand with the Countryside Library to provide the Inaugural Summer Camp Book Club. Kids ages 5-12, who attended summer camp, participated in the Book Club.
The campus atmosphere, provided by the two buildings sharing the same property, facilitated a unique opportunity for the campers to make several trips to the library to select books of their choosing. Campers worked with both recreation and library staff to continue to develop their reading habits throughout the summer.
Additionally, campers were provided time each week during camp to read to themselves as well as in a group. Reader progress was charted and the groups were rewarded with prizes, books, and special lunches as milestones were reached as a group.
