Clearwater Woman, Dog Rescued From Apartment Fire

CLEARWATER, FL — A 55-year-old woman remains in Tampa General Hospital in fair condition following a Clearwater apartment fire Sunday.

Just after 6:30 p.m., Clearwater Fire & Rescue and Clearwater Police responded to a fire at Lexington Club Apartments, 1200 S. Missouri Ave. The fire was contained to a single apartment.

Firefighters pulled Margie Mills and her dog to safety. Mills suffered burns and was taken to Tampa General Hospital as a trauma alert.

Fire officials said the fire was related to cooking.
