To create an incredible holiday experience for all, the Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) will host the 22nd Annual Winter Wonderland celebration which includes a toy and food drive for the needy.

(Clearwater, FL) – For an event that takes over 5,500 man-hours to build and run, the Clearwater Community Volunteers makes it their mission to provide the Tampa Bay area with the sparkling village they create in downtown Clearwater. The Grand Opening was Friday, December 5, 2014 at 6 pm and after Santa and his guest lighted up the village.  This family fun holiday display remains open until Sunday, Dec. 21. The hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 6–9 pm (Winter Wonderland is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays), and is located at NW Corner of Ft. Harrison Ave. & Drew St, across from the old Checkers, in Downtown Clearwater, Florida.

Besides the tens of thousands of lights covering 100 trees, charmingly decorated alpine cottages in the village, children decorate cookies with Mrs. Claus, visit Santa, can play on the playground, visit the petting zoo and enjoy other activities such as pony and train rides, a giant slide and bouncy house. The Hot Chocolate Shop provides light meals and snacks.

Volunteers from all over Pinellas County join the Clearwater Community Volunteers to give back to the community with this unique and joyful experience, as well as help families in need.

Due to the inspiration from L. Ron Hubbard’s “Love and Help Children” precept, Winter Wonderland not only provides entertainment to the community, but is also a food and toy drive for children in the Nourish to Flourish program founded by Public Defender Bob Dillinger. This year all Military families are invited to come as guests of CCV, with free tickets for each child to enjoy all that Winter Wonderland offers. Just show your military ID at the ticket booth. Also, Wednesday nights are Senior Citizen Night, each senior over 60 will get tickets for a free train ride, a hot chocolate and a picture with Santa.

Entrance to Winter Wonderland is free, but a small fee is charged for some of the activities. Please remember to bring an unwrapped toy or canned goods for the needy. Winter Wonderland closes on Sunday, December 21st at 9:00 pm.
