Cosart And Singleton Traded
Threshers stars Jarred Cosart and Jonathon Singleton are traded as part of a deal for Hunter Pence the Phillies make with the Astros.
Right-handed pitcher Jarred Cosart and slugging first baseman Jonathan Singleton have been traded to Houston along with two other minor leaguers for the Astros Hunter Pence.
The deal was finalized during the Threshers game in Palm Beach and Singleton simutaneously was removed in the eighth inning.
The hard throwing Cosart was part of a five man rotation that was as impressive as any in recent Florida State League history. He completes three years of service for the Phillies after being selected in the 38th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft.

Singleton will be missed not only for his talents but for his infamous smile. The 19 year old from Lakewood, Cali. was selected in the eighth round of the 2009 Draft. Singleton won player of the week honors in the FSL in late June and is currently batting .284.
Need to Know: On the field the Threshers Trevor May shut down the Palm Beach Cardinals in a 2-1 victory.

May limited the Cardinals to one earned run on two hits through seven plus innings. The FSL leader in strikeouts increased his season total to 159 compared to 53 walks.
