CLEARWATER, FL -- After exchanging vows in a ceremony on the white sugar sand of Clearwater Beach, a Polk County couple reportedly got drunk and got arrested.
According to Clearwater Police, Daniel Patrick Gillen, 61, and GeGee Riposta, 49, of Davenport were arrested Sunday, May 6, around 10:30 p.m. after getting into a fight at their Cleawater Beach hotel.
Guests at the hotel in the 400 block of Gulfview Boulevard complained about the yelling. When Clearwater Police responded, they found Gillen and Riposta drunk and embroiled in a fight.

It was an inauspicious start to their honeymoon. Police said the couple had been married only hours earlier. After saying, "I do," "both parties became intoxicated today and have been arguing throughout the day," wrote the responding officer.
As the night progressed, the fighting turned physical. Riposta accused her new husband of grabbing her by the neck and pushing her to the ground, causing scratches on her leg. Gillen accused his new wife of attacking him and scratching him across the chest.
