DUI Wolf Pack Set to Roam Pinellas County Saturday

Agencies throughout the county are taking part in the crackdown on impaired driving.

Law enforcement agencies from all over Pinellas County will be on the prowl this weekend to help take impaired motorists off local roads.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office announced plans to stage a DUI Wolf Pack operation starting Saturday evening and running through early Sunday morning.

The operation includes not only the sheriff’s office, but also the Florida Highway Patrol, G4S Prisoner Transport and the Tarpon Springs, Clearwater, Largo and St. Petersburg police departments. Motorists can anticipate seeing an increased law enforcement presence throughout the county as part of the joint undertaking.

“This operation is part of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s on-going commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving,” an email from the sheriff’s office to media stated. “The goal of the Wolf Pack is to educate people
and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.”
