The Florida Orchestra opens its 2011-2012 season with Orff’s Carmina Burana, which mixes "monk-like chant, angelic arias, writhing rhythms, raucous lyrics and raw visceral power." The orchestra calls this "an intoxicating powerhouse of a piece for over 300 instrumentalists and voices."
Also on the program is Mozart’s Abduction from the Seraglio Overture and Haydn’s Symphony No. 100, Military.
