Expect Heavy Traffic on Northbound U.S. 19 in Clearwater Area

The Florida Department of Transportation is warning motorists to anticipate heavy traffic Friday afternoon along the U.S. 19 northbound frontage roads in the Clearwater area.

Congestion is anticipated between Belleair Road and Gulf to Bay Boulevard as the state’s contractor works to open the new northbound on-ramp at Nursery Road. The on-ramp should open sometime Friday night instead of Saturday morning as previously announced.

Motorists may want to consider alternative routes if possible.
