Fatal Crash On U.S. 19 Under Investigation By State Troopers

CLEARWATER, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash along the northbound lanes of U.S. 19 just north of Curlew Road Tuesday morning.

According to troopers, at 5:20 a.m., a dairy truck pulling a trailer driven by a 43-year-old Orlando man was heading north on U.S. 19 and a Nissan driven by a 23-year-old Holiday man was following behind.

Troopers said the Nissan overtook the truck and collided with the rear of the trailer.

The driver of the Nissan was taken to the hospital and later died.
