FHP Arrests Woman Accused In Fatal DUI Death Of Clearwater Man

CLEARWATER, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol has arrested a 24-year-old Temple Terrace woman in a fatal crash on Christmas Eve.

According to the FHP, at 8:04 p.m. Dec. 24, Shaquira Agosto was driving an SUV west on Belleair Road west of South Lake Avenue. A 47-year-old Clearwater man was driving a pickup truck east on Belleair Road.

Troopers said Agosto entered the eastbound lane and collided nearly head on with the pickup truck.

The 47-year-old driver was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

On Jan. 1, the highway patrol arrested Agosto and charged her with DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and driving with a suspended license. She is currently being held at the Pinellas County Jail.
