FL Man Who Defecated On Dead Opossum Arrested, Charged: Police

Pinellas County authorities said a police officer said the man exposed his backside at a Clearwater intersection during busy traffic hours.

CLEARWATER, FL — A 45-year-old man was arrested and charged last week after authorities said he exposed himself while defecating on a dead opossum in Clearwater.

Robert A. Wilcox was charged with exposing his sexual organs following the Nov. 15 incident that happened near Belcher Road and Willow Tree Trail, according to an arrest affidavit.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office responded to the area shortly before 5:30 p.m. when a Clearwater police officer observed Wilcox defecating on the opossum with his pants down and his anal region exposed, authorities said.

According to the arrest affidavit, the incident happened "in full view of the public during busy traffic hours."

When interviewed by police, authorities said Wilcox denied the allegations and stated the officer "doesn't see straight."

Wilcox was taken into custody for exposing himself in an indecent manner while in a public place, authorities said.
