This Fleet Can't Be Beat; Clearwater Named Among Top In Country
The Clearwater Fleet Division has been ranked fifth in the nation out of 38,000 public fleets.

CLEARWATER, FL — For the fifth year in a row, the city of Clearwater's Fleet Division was awarded the "100 Best Fleets in North America" award sponsored by 100 Best Fleets in America and Governing Magazine.
In addition, the city has been ranked fifth in the nation out of 38,000 public fleets.
The 100 Best Fleets program recognizes and rewards peak performing fleet operations, such as the one that supports the city of Clearwater and its many departments.

The Fleet Division provides repair and maintenance services for a fleet of approximately 1,700 city vehicles and equipment, including Clearwater Police, Clearwater Fire & Rescue, Clearwater Solid Waste/Recycling, Stormwater, Engineering, Clearwater Gas and Parks and Recreation equipment.
The city's Fleet Division is part of Clearwater's Solid Waste/General Services Department, and it includes 35 full-time employees.

"I would like to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of the city's fleet team, which manages and maintains our robust fleet of vehicles and equipment,"said Jon Jennings, Clearwater's city manager. "I'm proud of the commitment by staff to excellence in all that they do and in embracing new technologies for the transition to a more sustainable fleet. Great work by all."
"Besides the standard fleet, our team of talented technicians maintain, adjust and repair a range of specialized equipment that not just any technician can work on," said Perry Conzen, Clearwater's fleet manager. "Being recognized as the fifth-best public fleet in the nation shows the level of expertise that our team possesses."
Started more than 20 years ago, the annual 100 Best Fleets in America program recognizes high-trust, high-performance fleet operations in North America and Canada. Criteria for the award include use of technology, performance, collaboration, service turnaround time and accountability.
