‘Freak Accident’: Flying Tire Smashes Car Windshield On U.S. 19
A flying tire slammed into the windshield of a car driven by a mother with her daughter as the passenger, Clearwater police said.

CLEARWATER, FL — Officers responded to a “freak accident” Saturday evening on U.S. 19, the Clearwater Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.
A tire came off a southbound vehicle, bounced over the median and slammed into the windshield of a car traveling just north of Drew Street around 6:30 p.m.
“Thankfully, no one was seriously injured or killed,” police said, adding, “A woman and her school-aged daughter were in the car at the time of the incident. Thankfully, the child was in the back seat and no one was riding in the front passenger seat, which sustained much of the damage from the tire.”
