Georgia Man Dies in Clearwater Shooting

The Clearwater Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place Sunday evening.

A 31-year-old man from Georgia, the department wrote in an email to media, was shot inside a home at 1722 Lakeview Road around 10:35 p.m.

Police say a female acquaintance of the man is believed to be the shooter.

“The shooting appears to have occurred after two different confrontations between the two parties on Sunday,” the email stated.

The man was taken to Morton Plant Hospital following the shooting, but died a short time later.

He has been identified as Adreon Jones of Jonesboro, Ga.

No further details about the case are being released at this time.
