Help Count Pinellas County's Homeless

A survey to gauge the county's homeless population is set to take place in January.

Tampa Bay area residents interested in helping the homeless have an opportunity coming up that only requires counting skills.

The Pinellas County Homeless Leadership Board is looking for volunteers to take part in a one-day survey. The count is set to take place Jan. 28 and is needed to “ensure funding for critical services,” the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County said in an email to media.

Volunteers interested in lending a hand for the Point in Time project are asked to take part in a training session that will be conducted several times prior to the Jan. 28 count.
