ICYMI: Bay Area Beaches Up For Florida's Best Honors
Sarasota's Siesta Key was named No. 1 in the nation in a different survey and 14th in the world.

Tampa Bay area residents proud of the region’s beaches might want to take time out to vote in an ongoing poll.
It seems USA Today is trying to determine which beach is the best of the best in a state known for its incredible water recreation areas. The paper has narrowed down the Sunshine State’s best beaches to a list of 20 and now it’s asking readers to help select the Top 10.
Not surprisingly, the Bay area is well represented with such entries as:

- Caladesi Island State Park in Dunedin
- Clearwater Beach
- Fort de Soto Park in St. Petersburg
- Pass-a-Grille Beach in St. Petersburg
- Siesta Beach in Siesta Key
USA Today is giving readers until March 16 at noon to vote for their favorite beach in the state.
Meanwhile, Trip Advisor has released the results of its 2015 Travelers’ Choice awards with Siesta Beach being named the No. 1 beach in the country. That sunny getaway also earned No. 14 honors in its international poll of best beaches.

Other Bay area beaches to make the Top 25 in the nation list, according to Trip Advisor voters, are:
- St. Pete Beach at No. 2
- Clearwater Beach at No. 8
