Frankie's, Tasia, Aroy Thai Tagged With Health Violations

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL –The presence of rodent dropping, grease on walls and seafood that wasn't date marked are some of the violations Pinellas County restaurants were recently cited for by inspectors from the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
In the last three weeks, 118 Pinellas County restaurants passed their first inspections while 138 restaurants were issued warnings.
Among those issued a warning was Joe'as Crab Shack at 2730 Gulf-To-Bay Blvd., Clearwater, which received notice of 10 violations on Dec. 13, including the dishwasher not sanitizing properly, the Dumpster overflowing with garbage and grease accumulated on the kitchen floor.

Tasia Restaurant, 4648 Park Blvd., Pinellas Park, was taken to task on Dec. 13 for 37 violations including rodent droppings in back of the dry storage room, raw beef stored over ready-to-eat rolls in the walk-in cooler, utensils not properly sanitized before using and an accumulation of a mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine.
Frankie's Patriot BBQ at 5250 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater, received notice of 19 violations on Dec. 12 including a buildup of food debris on shelving in the walk-in cooler, garbage on the ground around the Dumpster and encrusted material on the can opener blade.

Inspectors found 15 violations at the Island Grille & Raw Bar, 210 Madonna Blvd., Tierra Verde. on Dec. 13. They included a slicer blade guard soiled with food debris; clams, mussels and oysters not date marked; and cut marks on cutting boards that make them difficult to clean properly. All were minor violations and were corrected on-site. No followup inspection was required.
Aroy Thai & Sushi at 5306 Seminole Blvd., St. Petersburg, was ordered to correct 14 violations on Dec. 12 including no proof of parasite destruction for the raw salmon, raw duck stored over packaged vegetables in the reach-in freezer and walls soiled with accumulated grease and food debris.
