75-Year-Old Hudson Woman Wins $1,000 A Week For Life Game

A 75-year-old Hudson woman is the first to claim the top prize from the new $1,00 A Week For Life scratch-off game.

HUDSON, FL — A 75-year-old Hudson woman is the first to claim the top prize from the new $1,000 A Week For Life scratch-off game at the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.

Amelia Garritani chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $810,000.

Garritani purchased her winning ticket from Racetrac at 9932 U.S. 19 in Port Richey. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.

The new $1,000 A Week For Life scratch-off game launched on July 1 and features more than 9.8 million winning tickets, including eight top prizes of $1,000 a week for life. Overall odds of winning are one in 4.43.
