Journalist Covering Trump Visit To Tampa Positive For Coronavirus
A member of the press who covered President Donald Trump's visit to Tampa on Friday has tested positive for the coronavirus.

TAMPA, FL — The White House Correspondents’ Association said a member of the press who covered President Donald Trump's visit to Tampa on Friday tested positive for the coronavirus.
Zeke Miller, a reporter for the Associated Press and president of the association, made the announcement Sunday in a message to association members, saying, "We’ve already reached out to those who were in the pools with this individual, and the White House Medical Unit is conducting additional contact tracing and providing follow-on tests for those in the pools and potentially exposed."
The infected member of the press, who has not been named, was in close proximity to more than 30 reporters and photographers at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair where Trump hosted a round table discussion on the coronavirus and Hurricane Isiais with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida Sen. Rick Scott.

Everyone scheduled to attend the events surrounding Trump's visit to Tampa, including members of the press, were tested for the coronavirus before Trump's arrival but it's unclear whether the test was a viral or antibody test.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an antibody test might not show if a person has a current infection because it can take one to three weeks for the body to produce antibodies.

Among the press corps members covering Trump's visit to Tampa were White House correspondents who flew in with the president on Air Force One as well as print, online and television journalists from around Florida. All were required to wear masks.
