CLEARWATER, FL — After two years of cancellations and modifications, residents in cities and counties across the country are looking forward to many of the traditional Independence Day activities that mark the summer holiday.

Clearwater Celebrates America At The Ballpark

As construction continues on the Imagine Clearwater project that is redesigning Coachman Park, the traditional location for Clearwater's Fourth of July celebration, the city is making plans for the second year to host Clearwater Celebrates America at the Ballpark July 4 at BayCare Ballpark, 601 Old Coachman Road.

Attendees can celebrate America's birthday in style with a music-choreographed fireworks show, a star-studded concert featuring the Black Honkeys and activities for children of all ages.

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. and will conclude with the fireworks show at 9:15 p.m. (subject to change).

All-American culinary concessions, such as hamburgers, hot dogs and popcorn, will be available for purchase, as well as adult beverages.

Clearwater Celebrates America at the Ballpark is a ticketed event. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at BayCare Ballpark, by calling 727-467-4457 or online.

There are two ticket options: berm/field access or reserved seating.

A berm/field ticket allows access to activities on the concourse and standing or sitting room on both the berm and field near the concert stage. Berm/field ticket holders are allowed to bring blankets to lay on the field.

A reserved seating ticket allows access to activities on the concourse, a guaranteed seat throughout the night and no access to the berm or field.

Parking is $5 and can be purchased at the parking lot.

Those planning to attend should purchase their tickets in advance because of anticipated demand and a limited number of tickets.

The fireworks display will be designed for attendees inside the stadium. There are no alternative viewing locations.

Drivers are reminded to expect traffic delays near the stadium at southbound U.S. 19 and Drew Street.

Treasure Island Fireworks Show

The city of Treasure Island will celebrate America by lighting up the sky with a fireworks show on the beach.

The celebration will be Monday, July 4 (rain date is July 5) starting at 9 p.m.

Fireworks will be shot off from the beach near Gulf Front Park, 10400 Gulf Blvd.

Bring a beach chair or towel.

There will be metered public parking areas nearby including at the Treasure Island Community Center, One Park Place at 106th Avenue; the St. Petersburg Municipal Beach, Gulf Boulevard at 112th Avenue; Gulf Front Park, 10400 Gulf Blvd.; Sandpiper Lot, Gulf Boulevard at 100th Avenue; Treasure Island City Hall, 120 108th Ave.; Heron Lot, Bay Shore Drive and 75th Avenue at Sunset Beach; Tern Lot on West Gulf Boulevard at 77th to 79th avenues, next to the Sunset Beach Pavilion; Ring-Billed Gull Lot, West Gulf Boulevard at 81st Avenue, Sunset Beach; Brown Pelican Lot, West Gulf Boulevard at 88th Avenue, Sunset Beach; Sunset Vista Lot, 120th Avenue and Gulf Boulevard, Sunshine Beach; and White Egret Lot, 126th Avenue, Sunshine Beach.

The Treasure Island Police Department reminds residents and visitors to use crosswalks when crossing Gulf Boulevard or other busy roadways.

Gulfport 4th Of July Celebration

Gulfport will celebrate Independence Day with a kids fishing derby Monday, July 4, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Michael J. Yakes Recreation Complex, 5730 Shore Blvd. S.

Bait will be provided, but all anglers must bring their own pole and tackle. Registration is free and starts at 7:30 a.m.

There’s also a patriotic-themed sand-sculpting contest from 10 a.m. to noon on Gulfport Beach.

Free registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Winners will be announced at 12:15 p.m.

A parade along Beach Boulevard will begin at the Gulfport Public Library, 5501 28th Ave. S. at 6 p.m.

The best viewing is in front of the Gulfport Casino, 5500 Shore Blvd.

A welcome by the Gulfport mayor and city council members will follow the parade on the casino steps followed by patriotic music by the New Horizons Band at 7 p.m.

At 9 p.m., a fireworks display will launch from the Williams Pier. The best viewing location is Gulfport Beach.

Largo 4th Of July Festivities

Get to the park early to stake out your spot for Largo’s celebration with food trucks, music and fireworks sponsored Indian Rocks Baptist Church on Monday, July 4. starting at 5 p.m. at Largo Central Park.

The event is free. There will be limited on-site parking for $10 or park for $5 and walk from Largo Middle School or Largo High School. Parking lots open at 5 p.m.

Grab blankets or chairs and enjoy the live music starting at 6:30 p.m. by the Dave Matthews Acoustic Tribute Band followed by the Florida Man Band at 7:45 p.m. and the Indian Rocks Baptist Church Choir at 9 p.m. during the fireworks display.

Event sponsors are Indian Rocks Baptist Church, Tommy's Express Car Wash and Radiant Church.

Madeira Beach Fireworks Show

Madeira Beach will host Independence Day Fireworks on Sunday, July 3, at 9 p.m. at ROC Park.

The fireworks will be launched from the Madeira Beach Fundamental School.

Parking and viewing will be available at 200 Rec Place, Madeira Beach. Parking will not be allowed at the school property due to the required fireworks fallout area.

St. Pete Beach Fireworks Show

This Independence Day, the city of St. Pete Beach will launch fireworks from the east end of Corey Avenue beginning at 9 p.m.

Spectators are encouraged to make reservations at local restaurants or hotels for viewing, or pack a classic Fourth of July picnic and head to Horan Park.

Take your boat and join the John’s Pass Sandbar Day Drinkers for a party on the Eleanor Island sandbar just off John’s Pass, 12902 Village Blvd., Madeira Beach, on Sunday, July 3 from noon to 5 p.m.

Sloppy Joe's Independence Day Party

Head over to Sloppy Joe’s, 10650 Gulf Blvd., Treasure Island, on Monday, July 4, from noon to 9 p.m. for an all-American barbecue celebration with games, live music and a viewing of Treasure Island’s fireworks at 9 p.m.

The event is free. Food and drink will be available for a cost.

4th Of July Skate Party

Put on skates and patriotic attire for a skating party at Astro Skate Pinellas Park, 10001 66th St. N., Pinellas Park, on Monday, July 4, from 1 to 5 p.m.

There will be free hot dogs for the first 30 minutes and a hot dog-eating contest for a $200 cash prize.

Rooftop 4th Of July

Enjoy Fourth of July at a rooftop party at Vista at the Top at Tierra Verde Residence Inn, 214 Madonna Blvd., Tierra Verde, Monday, July 4 from 7 p.m. to midnight.

There will be crafted cocktails, small plates and tunes from a live DJ.

Those attending will have panoramic viewing of fireworks from downtown St. Petersburg and the beaches.

Tables for four and eight are available with fees credited back to food and drink purchases.

4th Of July Celebration At The Pier

Salute the nation's birthday at the second annual celebration at the St. Pete Pier, 600 2nd Ave. NE, St. Petersburg, Monday, July 4 from 4 t0 10 p.m. with a run, craft beer garden, food trucks, vendors, live music by Nightrain, roaming entertainers, a performance by the 13th U.S. Army Band and fireworks at 9 p.m.

Rooftop Terrace Celebration

Fusion Resort, 290 107th Ave., Treasure Island, will host a rooftop Fourth of July party with an all-you-can-eat barbecue and a view of the fireworks.

Safety Harbor 4th Of July Celebration

The American Legion Post 238 will host a patriotic parade down Main Street on the morning of Monday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to noon along Main Street in Safety Harbor.

Wear your red, white, and blue and celebrate America.

There will be a patriotic ceremony at the gazebo at John Wilson Park immediately following the parade with free snow cones, water, juice, cookies and popcorn.

Safety Harbor Mayor Joe Ayoub will present a proclamation with city commissioners, first responders and state officers of the American Legion on hand.

Entertainment will include live patriotic music and a performance by the Santa Claus Drill.

A Safety Harbor-style Fourth of July Celebration is planned on Monday, July 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Water Front Park, 110 Veterans Memorial Lane, Safety Harbor.

There will be children's activities, live entertainment and food vendors, culminating with a major fireworks display over Tampa Bay starting at 9 p.m.

4th Of July At Safety Harbor Resort

Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, 105 N. Bayshore Drive, Safety Harbor, will host a VIP party on the waterfront on Monday, July 4, from 6 to 10:30 p.m., including live music, a barbecue buffet, two hours of drinks and exclusive fireworks viewing.

The cost is $99 for adults and $59 for children.

Hometown USA 4th Of July Celebration

Dunedin Parks & Recreation will host its annual free Hometown USA Fourth of July celebration July 3 at TD Ballpark, 373 Douglas Ave., Dunedin, with gates opening at 7 p.m.

Celebrate America and enjoy a live band, movie and fireworks at TD Ballpark. The band will play in the third-base concourse area.

Seating is limited. Grand stand seating will be open to watch the movie and the fireworks show. There will be no access allowed on the field.

Schedule:

  • The Bay Kings Band will perform from 7 to 9 p.m.
  • The movie, "Angels in the Outfield," will be shown from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m.
  • The fireworks show will begin about 9:15 p.m., weather permitting.
  • The Bay Kings Band will take the stage once more from 9:40 to 10:45 p.m.

Concessions will be available.

There will be limited free parking at TD Ballpark, the Dunedin Library and the Hale Senior Activity Center.

Patriotic Golf Cart Parade

Dunedin Goes Carting will host a Patriotic Golf Cart Parade Sunday, July 3, at 4:30 p.m.

Deck out your golf cart in red, white and blue, and kick off Hometown USA with a parade to a party at the VFW with live music, food, drinks, games, a cart-decorating contest and a view of the fireworks at TD Ballpark at 9 p.m.

Golf carts will begin gathering at 4:30 p.m. and the parade will kick off at 6 p.m. at New York Avenue and Virginia Street in Dunedin.

Dunedin Kiwanis Midnight Run

The annual Kiwanis Midnight Run will take place Sunday, July 3, on the Dunedin Causeway.

It will include live runner finish medals, commemorative T-shirts, Dunedin Brewery tastes, backdrop photo ops, water stations and music.

Bring a nonperishable food item to donate to the Dunedin Cares and FEAST food pantries and receive a raffle ticket for each item donated.

Donation drop-offs will be in the registration area on the Dunedin Causeway.

Gift baskets will be raffled.

The 1-mile run/walk will begin at 11:15 p.m. The registration fee is $30.

The 5K run will begin at 11:40 p.m. The registration fee is $45.
The 10K run will begin at midnight. The registration fee is $35 in advance and $45 after July 1.
In addition, virtual 1-mile, 5K and 10K races will take place.

Tarpon Springs Picnic In The Park

The city of Tarpon Springs will present the annual Fourth of July Picnic in the Park on Sunday, July 4, in Craig Park on Tarpon Avenue at Spring Boulevard, just west of Alternate U.S. 19).

The event returns in 2022 for the 14th time. This is a family-friendly celebration for all ages.

Oyster Bone will perform from 11 a.m. to noon and 12:45 to 2 p.m.

Bring lawn chairs, swimsuits and towels. There will be water slides, food and drinks, and a hot dog-eating contest for ages 16 and up.

Tarpon Springs Fireworks Show

A Fourth of July fireworks show will take place July 4 after sunset (around 8:45 or 9 p.m.)

The best viewing is at Howard Park Beach at 1700 Sunset Drive in Tarpon Springs. The park, beach and causeway will be open for parking to view this event. Parking is free after 6 p.m. but limited so come early.

After the park is at capacity, the gates will be closed for safety.

No alcoholic beverages and no personal fireworks are permitted in the park.

The fireworks will be launched from the city’s Sunset Beach. For set-up and safety, Sunset Beach and the boat launch will be closed all day Monday, July 4, and will reopen Tuesday, July 5 at noon.
