Local Celebrities Turn Out to Help Fight Cancer
Several local Tampa Bay area celebrities including athletes and TV personalities come out to play softball at Bright House Field as part of the Clearwater Threshers' "Pitch for Pink" promotion.
Some of the stars from around the Tampa Bay area gathered at Saturday in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the Clearwater Threshers' "Pitch for Pink" fundraisers.
The event is an annual feature the Threshers hold each year where proceeds from the game, along with revenue from an auction where pink bats and pink jerseys used in the Threshers game go to Morton Plant Mease's breast cancer health services.
Prior to this season, the Threshers have raised over $130,000 for the hospital.

Later, as the Threshers hosted , breast cancer survivor Maryann Cagen sang the national anthem. Also before the game, local breast cancer survivors walked a lap around the field to celebrate their successful battle with cancer.
Celebrities included former Bucs great Derrick Brooks, current Bucs wide receiver Maurice Stovall, various local TV personalities and Tampa Bay Storm cheerleaders gave their best on the field for a good cause.
