Man Says Bag Of Drugs Wrapped Around Penis Wasn't His: Sheriff

A St. Petersburg man denied a baggy containing cocaine and meth found wrapped around his penis by sheriff's deputies belonged to him.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Despite his denial that the drugs belonged to him, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after they discovered a baggy filled with cocaine and methamphetamine wrapped around his penis.

Pinellas deputies said they stopped a vehicle that was operating without headlights or taillights at 4:02 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Ulmerton Road and Roosevelt Boulevard.

The driver was arrested for DUI. Patrick Deleon Florence Jr., 34, of St. Petersburg, was sitting in the front passenger seat when the vehicle was pulled over.

When deputies searched the car, they found a .38-caliber Special Rossi handgun with ammunition under the passenger's seat where Florence was sitting.

Police also found a baggy containing 6.5 grams of cocaine in the center console.

Florence, who told sheriff's deputies that he has more than 80 felony convictions, was arrested for possessing a firearm.

Deputies subsequently searched him. In his underwear, wrapped around his penis, deputies said they found a baggy containing cocaine powder and methamphetamine.

Florence told deputies the baggy of drugs wrapped around his penis was not his.

In addition to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, he was charged with possession of drugs.
