Manos Bakery Closed After Car Crashes Inside
The business announced its temporary closing after a Saturday morning car accident left its building damaged.
A two-car collision on Clearwater’s Drew Street resulted in no injuries to people, but the Manos Bakery building didn’t escape unscathed.
One of the vehicles involved, Clearwater Fire & Rescue reported, slammed into the 1971 Drew St. business around 8:45 a.m. According to Clearwater Police, the driver of the car that ended up in the bakery ran a red light at Drew and Hercules, hit another car and then crashed into the building.
“Thankfully, the two employees inside the bakery were not injured, and neither was the driver of the car,” the police department reported.

The driver has been cited for running a red light and not having a valid license. Police have not yet released the driver’s name.
The fire department’s technical rescue team had to respond to the scene to determine the building’s structural integrity and help board up the front of the business.
