Missing Elderly Man’s Body Found In Lake: Pinellas County Sheriff

An 85-year-old Clearwater man's body was found in Lake St. George next to his capsized boat, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.

PALM HARBOR, FL — A missing Clearwater man’s body was found Friday night in a Palm Harbor lake, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Clouster Bryant, 85, was reported missing to the Clearwater Police Department after he left to go fishing but never returned home, the agency said.

Deputies responded to Lake St. George, which Bryant frequents when fishing, around 7 p.m. to help police looking for the missing man. They found his pick-up truck by the lake’s north boat ramp.

The sheriff’s office’s marine and flight units assisted with the search and found his boat, a 13.8-foot Sears metal hull John boat, capsized on the south side of the lake.

Bryant’s body was found next to the boat, the agency said. He was wearing a life jacket and fishing equipment was found with him.

There were no obvious signs of recent damage to the boat and no evidence that his death was criminal, PCSO said.
