Motorcyclist Dies After Colliding With Semi In Pinellas County

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — A motorcyclist died Friday afternoon when he collided with a tractor-trailer in Pinellas County, authorities said.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 2:45 p.m. on 49th Street North. Police said a tractor-trailer driven by a 39-year-old Mulberry man was traveling north when it attempted to turn in the path of an oncoming Suzuki motorcycle driven by a 21-year-old Seminole man.

Police said the motorcyclist collided with the semi at the intersection of 58th Avenue North. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

The crash remains under investigation.
